Barcelona electoral team consider launching campaign against president Laporta

Members of the electoral setup at La Liga champions Barcelona are mulling over the possibility of launching a joint-campaign to ensure that Joan Laporta does not return as president.

That’s according to Blaugrana insider Adrian Sanchez, who has on Thursday provided an insight into the situation.

The next round of elections for the board at the Spotify Camp Nou are due to take place in 2026.

Current Barca president Joan Laporta is for his part expected to run for a fresh stint as the leading figure in Catalunya’s capital.

The competition, though, will be fierce.

And as alluded to above, opposing contenders for the presidency, it is understood, have already begun making plans to prevent the Spanish patron’s return.

As per a report from journalist Adrian Sanchez:

‘If nothing changes in the sports landscape, several people involved in the electoral environment of Barça would consider forming a UNIFIED candidacy to try to prevent Laporta from serving another term. All the polls they have indicate that the current Barça president would win.’
