Barcelona sporting director Deco has early this week sent a message of warning the way of Hansi Flick’s squad.
As much comes in the direct aftermath of nothing short of an alarming defeat for the Blaugrana this past weekend.
Barcelona were of course back in action on Sunday evening, seeing out their pre-international break commitments in a La Liga meeting with Sevilla.
When all was said and done, the reigning Spanish champions were condemned to a 2nd loss in succession, on this occasion by four goals to one.
Result aside, the performance put forth by Barca was completely unacceptable, widely labelled one of the worst of the entire Hansi Flick era.
And one individual on whom the significance of as much was evidently not lost is the aforementioned Deco.
Speaking during an interview with Tot Costa, as cited by Diario Sport, this week, Blaugrana director Deco warned that the club’s stars can under no circumstances put ‘quality ahead of work’:
“We’re not as magnificent or as exuberant as people painted us last season. We are a great team when we work, we are all together and we are capable of sacrificing ourselves for our teammates. When we’re like that, we’re a very difficult team to beat. But if we believe that we have quality ahead of work, we have a problem.”
