According to journalist Toni Juanmartí, Barcelona defender Ronald Araújo is conscious in hospital after falling to the ground in the club’s league game against Celta Vigo at Camp Nou.
An ambulance was called onto the pitch for the Uruguayan defender, who collapsed suddenly during the game after a clash of heads between Araújo and his team-mate Gavi.
Players rushed to help the 23-year-old before he was eventually taken to hospital, where his state is said to have improved.
Speaking to Movistar after the game, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang said: “It was a little scary but he’s in the hospital now and I hope he’s better.”
Barcelona ran out 3-1 winners on the night.
