The board at La Liga giants Barcelona are ready to deal their counterparts at Catalan rivals Girona an imminent blow on the transfer front.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards as much as coming in relation to Eric García.
The name of defender Eric has of course long proven a prominent one in the transfer headlines across Spain.
This comes amid the widespread understanding that the brass at the aforementioned Girona are keen to bring the Spanish international back to the club for the season ahead.
Eric spent the 2023/24 campaign on loan at the Estadi Montilivi, and went on to establish himself as one of La Liga’s standout defenders.
In turn, it has come as little surprise to hear that the Blanquivermells are ready to push for the ex-Manchester City man’s return until the very last minute of the summer window.
If the latest word stemming from the media on Tuesday is anything to go by, however, then such efforts look set to come up short.
As per the aforementioned MD:
‘Barca are not considering letting Eric go’.
The main reason for as much is the long-term injuries suffered by both Ronald Araújo, and Andreas Christensen.
Girona, as a result, will be forced to look elsewhere in their search for defensive reinforcements.
