Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick is giving consideration to making use of a fresh central-defensive pairing in the club’s next outing.
That’s according to Diario AS, who have on Wednesday provided an insight into the situation.
Following the surprise summer exit of Iñigo Martínez, Barcelona’s centre-back partnership for the club’s first two outings of the new campaign consisted of Pau Cubarsí, and Ronald Araújo.
In their final outing prior to the international break, the Blaugrana then shook things up, by way of the pairing of Andreas Christensen, and Eric García.
And if the latest word stemming from the Spanish media this week is anything to go by, then a third defensive partnership in four games to open the campaign could be in store for Barca this weekend.
As per a report from AS, owing chiefly to fatigue following the international break, Hansi Flick is considering setting up against Valencia on Sunday with Pau Cubarsí and Eric García manning the heart of his backline.
