La Liga giants Barcelona are on the verge of tying up a deal for their first signing of the summer.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, amongst a whole host of other sources, who point towards Joan García as the player on the verge of a Blaugrana switch.
Joan, of course, has emerged as a leading transfer target on the part of Barcelona over the course of recent weeks.
After it was confirmed that Deco and co. were on the lookout for reinforcements between the posts with a view to next season, the Espanyol standout quickly emerged as the club’s no.1 target.
And if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, then Barca, imminently, look set to land their man.
As per a report from MD in the early hours of Tuesday:
‘FC Barcelona hope that Joan García will become their new goalkeeper in the coming hours. With the agreement with his agent already sealed days ago, the Blaugrana club are working to finalize the signing of the RCD Espanyol goalkeeper in the coming hours in order to strengthen their goalkeeping position for the 2025-26 season.’
