La Liga champions Barcelona have been afforded some positive news amid their ongoing efforts to reinforce the club’s frontline for next season.
This comes amid confirmation that one of the Blaugrana’s alleged targets, in Serhou Guirassy, will see his release clause lowered next summer.
Goalscorer Guirassy’s name has emerged as an altogether prominent one in the chatter surrounding Barcelona over recent weeks.
This comes amid the understanding that the Guinean has made his way onto the watchlist of Deco and his team of directors.
Barca are currently on the lookout for a replacement for the aging Robert Lewandowski, primed to depart upon the expiration of his contract terms in Catalunya’s capital next summer.
It had previously been suggested that Borussia Dortmund had slapped a hefty €100 million price-tag on Guirassy’s head, all but ruling his signing out for Barcelona.
As alluded to above, though, if the latest word stemming from the media this week is anything to go by, then the Spanish champions’ pursuit could become altogether more realistic in the summer of 2026.
As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, citing German outlet BILD:
‘The striker and his representatives have negotiated with Borussia Dortmund to agree on a more affordable release price if clubs like Barça or Real Madrid come calling. That contractually stipulated price would be €65 million for the 29-year-old.’
