Athletic Club star Nico Williams was left looking sheepish on the bench en route to his side being demolished by Barcelona on Wednesday.
This of course comes after the Spanish international rejected a summer transfer to Catalunya’s capital, in favour of penning a new long-term contract with Athletic.
Athletic and Barca locked horns for the 2nd time this season a short time ago.
When all was said and done in the Spanish Super Cup semi-final matchup, the latter emerged utterly dominant victors, by five goals to nil.
Nico Williams, amid ongoing struggles for fitness, was left out of Athletic’s starting XI for the fixture.
As alluded to above, though, this did not stop the lights from shining bright on the gifted attacker across the 90 minutes.
Time and again, the TV cameras in the stadium panned to Nico, who looked in a combined state of shock, and embarrassment.
