The board at Barcelona are holding ongoing talks with La Liga rivals RCD Mallorca, over a potential summer transfer.
That’s according to Marca, who point towards Héctor Fort as the player at the centre of these discussions.
Youngster Fort all of a sudden finds himself without a place in the plans of Hansi Flick for the season ahead.
Owing to the respective emergences of Eric García and Gerard Martín as viable full-back options in Barcelona’s XI, the 19-year-old is out of favour on both flanks.
The plan of Deco and co, in turn, is to farm Fort out on loan for the 2025/26 campaign, to secure for the defender an uptick in playing time.
And as alluded to above, with this objective in mind, one landing spot in particular remains the most likely for Fort over the weeks ahead.
As per Marca, Barca and Mallorca, after already doing business once this summer for Pablo Torre, are continuing to talk over all options for a 2nd deal.
‘The operation won’t be quick. Both Barcelona and the Vermillion club need a few pieces to fit together to complete the deal. But the relationship between the two clubs, so far, is good,’ it is concluded.
