The brass at La Liga giants Barcelona consider a member of the club’s defensive ranks as the most likely January sacrifice in their bid to raise funds.
That’s according to Marca, who highlight Alejandro Balde as the player in question.
Stopper Balde is for his part fresh off another altogether disappointing outing on Saturday. Amid the ongoing injury crisis in Barcelona’s backline, the 22-year-old still did not manage a single minute of playing time in a La Liga meeting with Alavés.
Instead, Hansi Flick continued to make clear his lack of faith in Balde’s talents, affording a first-ever start to youngster Brian Fariñas.
In turn, it should come as little surprise to hear of Balde’s future at the Camp Nou being considered as very much up in the air.
As per a report from Marca, amid hopes of raising funds to bring in a new central defender in January:
‘As of today, he’s the player the club considers most likely to leave, especially since he still has a lot of market value.’
