The brass at La Liga champions Barcelona are mulling over a move to bring João Cancelo back to the club.
This comes amid the understanding that the Blaugrana are on the lookout for reinforcements at full-back.
Both Jules Koundé and Alejandro Balde have come in for criticism across the season to date, with the former in particular having struggled badly to rediscover his best form.
Deco and co, in turn, are considering player profiles capable of filling both sides of a back-four.
Cancelo, who enjoyed an impressive season on loan in Catalunya’s capital under the watch of Xavi back in 2023/24, has therefore been earmarked as one potential option.
As per a report from transfer market insider Ekrem Konur:
‘Barcelona plans to check the situation of Al-Hilal right-back João Cancelo.’
It is currently not clear if any such move could come in January, or next summer.
