La Liga giants Barcelona have earmarked Galatasaray star Victor Osimhen as a potential summer transfer target.
This comes amid the Blaugrana’s ongoing hunt for reinforcements up top.
Barcelona are of course widely expected to bring in a new centre-forward for next season, to take over a starting role in Hansi Flick’s XI.
Amid their search for the ideal profile, Atlético Madrid standout Julián Alvarez has long been viewed as the first-choice option on the part of Joan Laporta and co.
Barca are aware, however, that a deal for the Argentine will not be easy to come by.
Alternative arrangements are therefore also being constantly worked on behind the scenes.
And as alluded to above, this week, the identity of one such backup option has been revealed, by Mundo Deportivo:
‘Victor Osimhen is a player to watch after returning to prominence with two excellent seasons at
Galatasaray, where he has scored 56 goals in 70 matches. He’s under contract until 2029.’
It is also noted, however, that the Camp Nou hierarchy have reservations about any pursuit of Osimhen, owing to the Nigerian’s at-times temperamental nature.
