The name of youngster Abdelkarim has of course emerged as a prominent one in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital over recent weeks.
Amid a constant search for fresh up-and-coming talent across the world of football, Deco and co. earmarked the 17-year-old as a tempting profile.
Negotiations over the terms of a winter deal, in turn, were kicked into gear with Al Ahly.
And if the latest word stemming from the media on Tuesday is anything to go by, then such talks look set to bare imminent fruit.
As per a report from leading Egyptian outlet FilGoal:
‘Barcelona are close to signing Hamza Abdelkarim after submitting the final offer.’
