Barcelona close to completing the signing of Inter striker Lautaro Martínez

Barcelona are close to completing the signing of Argentine striker Lautaro Martínez from Inter, according to Marca.

In order for the deal to go through, Barca will look to sell another player to balance their books, with Philippe Countinho being tipped for a move away before October. The sale of Arthur Melo to Juventus was the first step in improving their current financial situation.

According to ESPN, Barcelona have already agreed on terms with Lautaro. The Catalan club now need to agree on a fee with the Nerazzurri, with the value of the deal reportedly in the region of €120m.

€70m of that total valuation will be from two players that Barcelona add into the deal, with the rest coming in the form of cash. The player’s €111m release clause expired on Tuesday, a fee that Barca wouldn’t have been able to pay.
