A delegation from La Liga giants Barcelona on Monday held a meeting with one of the leading agents in world football: Jorge Mendes.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who have provided an insight into the latest developments in Catalunya’s capital.
Barcelona are of course fresh off nothing short of a spectacular opening to the new season, looking close to unstoppable en route to six wins from six across all competitions.
The Blaugrana already look the clear favourites to retain their La Liga title, with Hansi Flick’s troops tipped for a deep Champions League run, too.
Behind the scenes, though, work remains ongoing to tweak the playing squad at the Ciutat Esportiva, both in terms of outgoings and incomings.
And as alluded to above, on Monday evening, a fresh round of discussions took place with regards to precisely that. As per a report from Barca insider Carlos Monfort of Diario Sport:
‘Deco-Joan Laporta-Jorge Mendes summit in Barcelona! The president and the sporting director have just started having dinner with the Portuguese superagent.
‘Informal meeting with Lamine Yamal and Alejandro Balde as protagonists.’
