Barcelona sporting director Deco has sent a public message of support the way of a member of on-loan Blaugrana star Ronald Araújo. This comes after the Uruguayan was afforded his debut appearance in the colours of Liverpool.
Stopper Araújo was of course afforded a temporary departure from parent club Barca earlier this month. Somewhat out of the blue, widespread reports were forthcoming that the 27-year-old had agreed to join the aforementioned Liverpool on a season-long loan.
Amid a search for regular starting minutes, Araújo, in turn, went on to pen terms at Anfield through the summer of 2027.
This move gave rise to a first-ever outing for the defender in Liverpool’s famed red on Sunday, in a friendly meeting with Serie A outfit Como.
And as alluded to above, quick to show his appreciation and support for Araújo post-match was none other than Deco. Taking to the comments section of the South American’s latest post on Instagram, Barcelona chief Deco wrote:
‘Grande’, accompanied by a series of applause emojis.
