Barcelona chief confirms Hansi Flick future update

Barcelona sporting director Deco has provided a major update on the club’s plans for manager Hansi Flick and his staff.

This comes amid confirmation that the German is set to stay put beyond the summer of 2026.

Tactician Flick is of course in the thick of what has been an altogether productive stint in Catalunya’s capital to date.

Across a historic debut campaign on the Barcelona bench, the German secured for his new employers a domestic treble.

The Blaugrana also find themselves in the thick of the battle for La Liga supremacy this time round, expected to rediscover their brilliant best upon an early-season injury crisis easing.

In turn, it should not come as a major surprise to learn of the plans of those behind the scenes at the Camp Nou for the club’s headmaster.

Speaking during an appearance at the club’s general assembly on Sunday, Barca sporting director Deco confirmed:

“We have decided to renew the contract of coach Flick for an additional year, as well as for his technical staff, to provide the stability and structure that we need.”
