Barcelona boss Flick responds to Lamine Yamal’s angry reaction to substitution vs Eintracht

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has spoken out on the frustrated response of Lamine Yamal to being hauled off in the club’s latest outing.

Barcelona were of course back in action yesterday evening, welcoming Eintracht Frankfurt to Catalunya’s capital for a Champions League clash.

When all was said and done, the Blaugrana emerged on the right side of a 2-1 result, a much-needed return to winning ways on the continent.

Youngster Lamine for his part featured from the off in the fixture, and laid on the assist for what ultimately proved to be the evening’s decisive goal.

Upon his number flashing across the 4th official’s board, signifying the end of the 18-year-old’s contributions, however, Lamine looked less than impressed.

In fact, for far from the first time this season, the winger looked downright annoyed with the decision to take him off.

Speaking to the media post-match, the subject of as much was therefore put to manager Hansi Flick.

And the German tactician was quick to play the situation down, in responding:

“Lamine’s anger regarding the substitution? Next time, he’ll be on the bench, it’s not a problem for me (laughs) He got the yellow card, and there were about five minutes left, so we had to make the substitution, and that’s why, and I completely understand his feelings, because everyone wants to stay on the pitch. He’s also young so it’s pretty normal.”
