Barcelona boss Flick dodges question on Real Madrid star

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick opted against providing his opinion when drawn on the weekend drama surrounding Real Madrid star Arda Güler.

Midfielder Arda was of course at the heart of a media storm during the first-half of Real Madrid’s La Liga meeting with Sevilla on Sunday.

En route to a 4-1 Blancos triumph, the Turk set the scoring in motion courtesy of a wonderful left-footed strike from the edge of the area.

Minutes prior, however, Sevilla were adamant that Arda should have been shown a red card, for lashing out at Peque in an off-the-ball incident in the middle of the park.

At the time, the two sides were still deadlocked at 0-0, meaning the decision not to take action on the part of the team of officials proved to be a potentially decisive one.

Speaking during an appearance in front of the media early this week, the subject of Arda’s potential dismissal was in turn put to Barcelona headmaster Hansi Flick. The German tactician, however, opted against getting involved, explaining:

“Arda Güler? I saw something, but I will keep the opinion for myself. It’s not my job to comment on that.”
