The board at La Liga giants Barcelona are now fully aware of the identity of the player most desired by the club’s fanbase with a view to next season.
That’s according to Blaugrana insider Achraf Ben Ayad, who points towards Nico Williams as the player in question.
The name of winger Nico has of course returned to the forefront of the headlines in Catalunya’s capital with a bang over the last 48 hours.
This comes after surprise developments in a saga seen by many as dead in the water were confirmed.
After rejecting a move to the Camp Nou last summer, Nico instructed agent Félix Tainta to hold a fresh round of talks with Barcelona sporting director Deco.
This came with one purpose: To make clear his desire to link up with Hansi Flick’s squad this coming summer.
And as alluded to above, the positive reaction to such news on the part of the club’s fanbase has not been at all lost on those in the Barca boardroom.
