La Liga giants Barcelona have late this week been dealt a blow on the personnel front.
This comes amid confirmation that an up-and-coming member of the club’s first-team ranks has made the call to depart.
The player in question? Pedro ‘Dro’ Fernández.
Midfielder Dro has of course enjoyed something of a breakout campaign to date, since catching the eye of Hansi Flick and his staff with his performances in pre-season.
All told, the 18-year-old has in turn gone on to rack up five senior appearances for Barcelona.
This level of game time, however, has evidently not proven sufficient to keep Dro himself satisfied.
As first reported by Blaugrana insider Carlos Monfort, and since backed by market insider Fabrizio Romano:
‘Dro will leave Barcelona this month, decision made by 18 year old midfielder with his agent. The release clause worth €6m will be triggered soon — Hansi Flick has also been informed.’
A whole host of clubs from across Europe are now expected to table offers, in the hopes of activating Dro’s cut-price release clause.
