Barcelona announce Hafiz Gariba signing

La Liga giants Barcelona have on Saturday announced a fresh addition to the club’s youth ranks.

The player to have put pen to paper on terms with the Blaugrana? Hafiz Gariba.

Gariba, for his part, is an 18-year-old central defender, who has long been making waves in his home country of Ghana.

Whilst making his way through the Marcet School, the stopper turned heads with both his physical attributes, and defensive abilities.

Such traits piqued the attentions of a number of clubs in Spain, who made contact over potential deals for Gariba as a result.

It was Hansi Flick’s Barcelona, though, who pushed hardest for a deal, viewing the young stopper as a possible future star in the making.

And as alluded to above, this weekend, such endeavours have officially borne fruit.

After a week of speculation pointing towards an agreement for Gariba being all but sewn up, Barca on Saturday announced the following across the club’s social media platforms:

‘Player Hafiz Gariba joins Juvenil B.

‘The signing ceremony was attended by the director of Youth Football, José Ramon Alexanco, and the coordinator of 11-a-side Football, Sergi Milà.’
