Some behind the scenes at La Liga champions Barcelona are of the opinion that Dani Olmo is in part to blame for his latest injury setback.
That’s according to Diario AS, who have on Saturday provided an insight into the situation.
Midfielder Olmo has of course been condemned to a fresh spell on the sidelines over the last 24 hours.
After word was forthcoming that the former RB Leipzig man had suffered an injury whilst training with the Spanish national team, he was forced to return to base in Catalunya’s capital.
Olmo, in turn, could be facing up to several weeks on the treatment table.
The bulk of the blame for as much has since been placed on the shoulders of Luis de la Fuente and his staff, after Barcelona sent a report to the RFEF warning that their midfield star was dealing with muscle fatigue and discomfort.
As alluded to above, though, some at Barcelona are of the opinion that Olmo himself is also at least in some part to blame.
As per a report from AS:
‘The club doesn’t understand why the player wanted to go out to train if he wasn’t fully recovered. In this regard, Barcelona also blames the player for not being able to read all the signals his body was sending him, perhaps out of fear of losing a place in the 2026 World Cup.’
