FC Barcelona have tied up a deal for 19-year-old Brazilian striker Gustavo Maia from São Paulo, according to Sport. He’ll sign a five-year contract.
The Blaugrana have paid €1m for Maia – if they want to complete the deal they must pay €3.5m more before June 30, to own 70 per cent of the players’ rights.
Maia joined São Paulo from Morumbi in 2014 at the age of 13. His current contract runs until 2022. The young forward is expected to join up with the Barcelona B team. A right-footed player with great technique – is versatile in attack and can play in any position across the front line.
