The board at La Liga champions Barcelona have this week tied up a 2nd transfer agreement of the summer with their counterparts at Dutch heavyweights Ajax.
This comes amid the understanding that Jofre Torrents is all set to take his talents to Amsterdam on a permanent basis over the days ahead.
Youngster Jofre has seen his name emerge as a prominent one in the media headlines in Catalunya’s capital over the last couple of weeks. Despite being held in high regard by the coaching staff at the Ciutat Esportiva, amid an ongoing search for transfer funds, Barcelona opened the door to a sale at the right price.
After already tying up a loan deal for Marc-André ter Stegen earlier this month, the brass at the aforementioned Ajax, in turn, quickly made known their interest in adding the left-back to their ranks, too.
And as alluded to above, late this week, the parties are understood to have reached a definitive accord regarding precisely as much.
As per a report from Diario Sport:
‘FC Barcelona have closed the sale of Jofre Torrents to Ajax in exchange for around six million euros, between fixed and variable, for 50% of the player’s rights.’
Jofre is expected to fly out to the Dutch capital of Amsterdam over the coming hours, ahead of undergoing a medical and signing a long-term contract.
