The board at La Liga giants Barcelona have this week been afforded a potential lifeline on the financial front.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who have revealed that a headline member of the Blaugrana’s attacking ranks is the subject of a mammoth proposal from the Saudi Pro League.
The player in question? Raphinha.
Wide-man Raphinha, of course, has long been tipped for a departure from Catalunya, with the winter transfer window having seen a number of clubs from the Middle East express a keen interest in his signature.
When all was said and done, the Brazilian stayed put, but speculation pointing towards a potential summer sale has nevertheless continued to circulate in force.
As much comes with Barcelona in dire need of a cash injection, and Raphinha set to be pushed down the pecking order in the club’s frontline owing to the emergence of teenage sensation Lamine Yamal.
Those of a Blaugrana persuasion, as a result, will undoubtedly be intrigued to hear of a new offer for the former Leeds United standout landing in the boardroom at the Camp Nou.
As per the aforementioned Sport, ‘this last week Barça received a new offer from Arabia for their ’11”.
Not only that, but the bid in question is understood to have come in ‘excess’ of the €80 million demands laid out by Barcelona in January.
Though a definitive response has not yet been forthcoming on the part of the brass in Catalunya’s capital, it would come as little surprise if, ultimately, they were to accept.
