La Liga giants Barcelona are pushing ahead with a move for Los Angeles FC star Son Heung-min.
That’s according to Fichajes, who have early this week provided an insight into the situation.
Barcelona, it is claimed, are ready to take advantage of the famous ‘Beckham Rule’, to bring attacker Son to La Liga over the months ahead.
The rule in question allows players to depart for Europe on a temporary basis during the off-season in Major League Soccer.
On the lookout for reinforcements in the final third amid an early-season injury crisis, the Camp Nou hierarchy have in turn set sights on the South Korean international.
Son has for his part racked up 11 direct goal contributions in 10 MLS appearances since making the move to the USA.
Keen to maintain match sharpness ahead of next summer’s World Cup, the 33-year-old would for his part also be keen on linking up with Barcelona, it is claimed.
One to watch as the MLS season moves into the playoff phase…
