The statline pieced together by Real Madrid star Vinícius Jr. against Barcelona this evening makes for absolutely painful reading.
This of course comes fresh off an outing to forget for all associated with Real Madrid.
Carlo Ancelotti’s troops marked their return to action a short time ago, in a crunch showdown atop the La Liga table.
And, when all was said and done, Los Blancos were nothing short of embarrassed.
Owing to goals on the part of all of Robert Lewandowski (2), Lamine Yamal and Raphinha, Barcelona emerged from Spain’s capital on the right side of a 4-0 result.
A whole host of Real Madrid’s stars struggled en route to as much, with the likes of Kylian Mbappé and Jude Bellingham having come in for heavy criticism as a result.
Equally as poor over the course of the 90 minutes, though, was attacking partner-in-crime Vinícius Jr.
Wide-man Vinícius is of course fresh off a spectacular display in midweek, which saw the Brazilian rattle off a 2nd-half hat-trick en route to a 5-2 demolition of Borussia Dortmund.
Tonight, however, Viní failed to step up to the plate when it mattered most, albeit with enormous credit also owed to Barcelona for just how well they managed to marshal the 24-year-old.
Nevertheless, his post-match stats, mere days out from Vinícius being awarded the Ballon d’Or, make for difficult reading…
