An early update on the wellbeing of Barcelona star Jules Koundé has come to the fore online on Sunday evening.
And the news is of an altogether concerning nature…
Defender Koundé for his part set alarm bells sounding across Catalunya’s capital a short time ago.
This came upon the Frenchman pulling up with what appeared to be a muscular injury late in Barcelona’s 2-0 victory over Villarreal.
Koundé, from here, limped from the field of play, replaced by Marc Casadó in Hansi Flick’s XI.
And if ensuing word stemming from the media post-match is anything to go by, then Flick and co. could well be without their first-choice right-back for several weeks.
As per a report from Barca insider Javier Miguel of Diario AS:
‘Bad feeling about Koundé. Hamstring injury. Possible absence from the Super Cup.’
An official update on the wellbeing of the former Sevilla man is expected over the coming 48 hours.
