Aymeric Laporte considers leaving Manchester City

Aymeric Laporte is seriously considering leaving Manchester City in the summer, report Mundo Deportivo.

The defender has a contract with City until 2025, and if they let him leave, he reportedly would want to join Barcelona.

The report also claims that Barça are already aware of Laporte’s interest in leaving the Premier League side.

Marcos Alonso is currently playing in the left-sided centre-back role on a temporary basis at Camp Nou, but Xavi Hernández wants a specialist and he likes Laporte.

There were reports in England over the weekend that City want to sign RB Leipzig’s Croatian centre-back Josko Gvardiol, and that a move for the defender would enable them to let Laporte leave.

There has already been contact between Barcelona and Laporte’s entourage and it has been made clear that both parties are willing to join forces as long as City agree to let him leave for an acceptable fee and as long as Barcelona’s financial fair play situation makes the operation feasible.
