Atlético Madrid forward Matheus Cunha is facing up to two months on the sidelines with a knee injury.
The medical tests that Cunha underwent reveal that he has suffered knee ligament damage in his right knee in the club’s 1-0 defeat to Levante.
Atlético’s main concern was that he had suffered cruciate ligament damage which would have ruled him out for a longer period.
The Atlético player himself wrote on his Instagram account: “Thank you all for the messages! The lesser of two evils. Happy as always and focused on the recovery”.
Cunha, 22, also posted a picture of João Félix visiting him at home to cheer him up after his injury.
