Atlético Madrid star Antoine Griezmann has on Saturday etched his name indellibly into the history books of Spanish football.
This comes after the Frenchman notched his 200th goal in La Liga.
Griezmann was for his part introduced off the bench this evening, as Atlético Madrid welcomed Sevilla to Spain’s capital for a league clash.
When all was said and done at the Metropolitano, the day’s hosts emerged on the right side of a 3-0 result.
And it was the Rojiblancos’ final goal of the matchup which secured history.
Laid on outside the Sevilla penalty area late on, Antoine Griezmann strode forward before directing a driven effort into the bottom corner of the visitors’ net.
This came as the veteran attacker’s 200th goal of his La Liga career, ensuring his place on a short list of stars.
As per statisticians Opta, Griezmann is just the 11th player in history to rack up two centuries’ worth of goals in the top division of Spanish football.
