La Liga heavyweights Atlético Madrid are expected to put the finishing touches on the signing of Atalanta star Matteo Ruggeri early this coming week.
That’s according to market insider Fabrizio Romano, who has on Sunday provided an update on the situation.
The name of left-back Ruggeri has of course taken its place centre stage in the headlines in Spain’s capital over recent days.
This comes after widespread confirmation was forthcoming that Atlético were in the thick of advanced negotiations to bring the 22-year-old to the Metropolitano for next season.
And as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from the media this weekend is anything to go by, then Ruggeri can now be considered all but an Atléti player.
As per a report from journalist Fabrizio Romano:
‘Matteo Ruggeri deal will be signed on Tuesday with Atlético Madrid and Atalanta completing all paperwork. €17m fixed fee plus €3m add-ons considered easy to reach.’
