A fresh round of comments on the part Atlético Madrid striker Julián Alvarez have this week turned heads amongst those of a Barcelona persuasion.
This comes after the 25-year-old continued to make clear his appreciation for Blaugrana stars of the past.
The name of frontman Alvarez has of course returned to the forefront of the headlines across Spain this week.
This comes after word was forthcoming that the Argentine’s explosive recent form has not gone unappreciated at Barcelona.
Amid an ongoing search for a long-term replacement for the aging Robert Lewandowski, Deco and co. are said to have earmarked Alvarez as the ideal profile.
In fact, according to Diario Sport:
‘FC Barcelona is clear that Julián Álvarez is their number 1 target for the next summer market.’
Safe to say, then, that Alvarez’s comments during a recent quickfire interview with ESPN will no doubt pique attentions across the Blaugrana fanbase.
Drawn on subjects such as La Liga’s best player of all time, as well as the greatest creator and dribbler ever, the Atlético standout highlighted names such as Lionel Messi, Andrés Iniesta and Neymar.
