A member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Atlético Madrid is on the verge of penning fresh terms with the club.
That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, who points to Giuliano Simeone as the player in question.
Winger Simeone has for his part taken his place centre stage in the chatter surrounding Atlético Madrid over recent weeks.
This comes with the Argentine in the midst of the finest stretch of his Rojiblancos career to date.
Now considered one of the first names on the team sheet of father Diego, Simeone has directly contributed to a goal in four of his last six appearances.
Such efforts even culminated in a recent trio of successive Man of the Match awards.
And this ongoing excellence has evidently not gone unappreciated behind the scenes in the Spanish capital.
As per a report from market insider Fabrizio Romano, citing journalist David Medina:
‘Giuliano Simeone, closing in on new deal until June 2030 with Atlético Madrid. The agreement is at final stages.’
