La Liga outfits Atlético Madrid and Sevilla have over recent days been named as two of a long list of clubs keen on a deal for Mexican sensation Elías Montiel.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, citing transfer insider Ekrem Konur.
Montiel, for his part, is a 19-year-old midfielder, who has long been making waves with his performances in his home country of Mexico.
The starlet is currently plying his trade with Liga MX outfit Pachuca, for whom he has racked up 28 league appearances this season.
Considered a potential star in the making, Montiel has chipped with two goals and two assists along the way.
And such exploits, it would appear, have not gone at all unnoticed across the water.
As per MD, in fact, in Spain alone, both Atlético Madrid and Sevilla are keen on a deal for the teenage talent.
The likes of AS Roma, Galatasaray, Ajax, Club América and Cruz Azul are all keeping a close eye on Montiel’s development, too.
It now remains to be seen if any of these clubs can strike a deal with their counterparts at Pachuca, to beat out the stiff competition with a view to next season.
