La Liga giants Atlético Madrid have kickstarted talks with Italian outfit AS Roma over a potential winter transfer deal.
This comes with the brass at the Stadio Olimpico having set their sights on the signing of Giacomo Raspadori.
Frontman Raspadori of course took his talents to Spain’s capital over the summer, from Serie A champions Napoli.
Safe to say, however, that the 25-year-old’s time in the colours of Atlético has since proven to be a major disappointment.
All told, across the term to date, Raspadori has managed just a solitary La Liga start, struggling to come to terms with the intensity and style of play demanded by Diego Simeone.
And such woes look increasingly likely to give rise to a swift departure for the Italian international.
As per a report from transfer insider Matteo Moretto, ahead of the predicted exit of Paulo Dybala from the latter:
‘Atlético and Roma are already in talks for Giacomo Raspadori, though the negotiations have not yet entered the crucial phase.’
