La Liga giants Atlético Madrid have kicked into gear negotiations with Premier League outfit Chelsea, over a deal for Renato Veiga.
That’s according to market insider Fabrizio Romano, who has on Tuesday provided an update on the situation.
The name of defender Veiga has of course emerged as a central one in the headlines surrounding Atlético Madrid over recent days.
This comes after widespread confirmation was forthcoming that the 21-year-old, fresh off an impressive loan stint with Juventus, has been earmarked as a leading transfer target on the part of Diego Simeone and co.
Amid an ongoing search for reinforcements at the back, Veiga is considered the ideal profile of player.
In turn, as per a report from journalist Fabrizio Romano:
‘Atlético Madrid and Chelsea start club to club talks today for Renato Veiga. Renato said yes to Atléti and first bid will follow while Chelsea will insist on €40m package.’
