Atlético Madrid & Napoli discuss surprise player swap deal

The brass at La Liga giants Atlético Madrid recently held a round of discussions with their counterparts at Italian outfit Napoli, over a potential player swap deal.

This comes amid the understanding that, before the summer is out, the two clubs could exchange goalkeepers.

In the case of the Spaniards, the shot-stopper on the exit ramp comes in the form of Juan Musso. Facing up to another year acting as backup to Jan Oblak, the Argentine is seemingly open to the prospect of a return to Serie A.

Musso would, as part of the touted deal, link up with Max Allegri’s Napoli, where he would have the chance to establish himself as first-choice.

Heading in the other direction, meanwhile, would be the Partenopei’s no.1 from last season, in the form of Vanja Milinković-Savić. As per a report from transfer market insider Fabrizio Romano:

‘Napoli and Atlético Madrid have discussed potential swap deal between Juan Musso and Vanja Milinković-Savić. Talks took place with intermediaries but there’s gap in valuation.’
