Atlético Madrid will no longer wait for Fiorentina forward Dusan Vlahovic and are now negotiating for Matheus Cunha of Hertha Berlin, according to Sky Sport.
The 22-year-old has just won the Olympics with Brazil and is believed to be Atleti’s main target now.
Atlético had been in contact with Fiorentina player Dusan Vlahovic but the sides were not advancing towards a deal as the Serie A club want to keep their 21-year-old forward.
Spanish striker Rafa Mir was reportedly close to joining the La Liga champions from Wolves but that deal has fallen through.
