Atlético Madrid consider late-window move for PSG star

La Liga giants Atlético Madrid are giving consideration to launching an incoming move for an out-of-favour member of the midfield ranks at Champions League holders Paris Saint-Germain.

That’s according to journalist Héctor Gómez, who points towards Carlos Soler as the player in question.

Former Spanish international Soler is for his part expected to be on the move before the summer is out.

Fresh off a season in England with West Ham United, the 28-year-old has returned to base in Paris with Luis Enrique’s PSG.

Soler, however, does not feature in the plans of his fellow countryman in any form.

And one club giving serious consideration to attempting to take advantage of this situation, it is understood, are the aforementioned Atlético Madrid.

As per journalist Héctor Gómez, speaking on his official Twitch channel this week, amid an ongoing search for reinforcements in the middle of the park, Diego Simeone and co. have earmarked Soler as a potential solution.

Any swoop on the part of the Rojiblancos would likely come very late in the window, in the form of a loan.

Soler, for his part, is understood to be keen on the prospect of taking his talents to the Metropolitano.
