La Liga giants Atlético Madrid have confirmed that defensive star Robin Le Normand has suffered an injury setback.
As much came during the Rojiblancos’ Champions League meeting with Union Saint-Gilloise.
Le Normand was for his part in from the off at the Metropolitano, only to be hooked from proceedings during the first-half.
And as confirmed by way of an ensuing statement across Atléti’s social media platforms:
‘Le Normand was substituted due to an indirect trauma (hyperextension) in the left knee, which will be assessed by the medical services in the coming hours.’
Le Normand’s setback came on what proved to be an otherwise positive night’s work for Diego Simeone’s troops on Tuesday.
When all was said and done in the Spanish capital, the hosts emerged on the right side of a 3-1 result.
This came owing to goals on the part of all of Julián Alvarez, Conor Gallagher, and Marcos Llorente.
