La Liga giants Atlético Madrid have on Tuesday announced an injury blow in the club’s midfield ranks.
This comes amid confirmation that Pablo Barrios is set for an incoming spell on the sidelines, after suffering a muscular problem.
As per a statement across Atléti’s website and social media platforms this afternoon:
‘Pablo Barrios has a minor muscle injury, diagnosed by the club’s medical services following tests performed on the midfielder.
‘The Rojiblanco number 8 will undergo physiotherapy sessions and rehabilitation work in the gym, and the progress of his injury will determine his return to competition.’
Barrios for his part featured from the off on Monday night, as Diego Simeone’s troops made the trip to Seville, for a La Liga meeting with Real Betis.
When all was said and done in the matchup, the visitors emerged on the right side of an impressive 2-0 result.
Unfortunately, however, their three-point haul came at a cost for Atlético, who look set to be forced to make do without youngster Barrios’ services for the time being.
