A member of the defensive ranks at Barcelona is drawing transfer interest from La Liga rivals Atlético Madrid.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, citing Italian reports, who point towards Andreas Christensen as the player in question.
Defender Christensen’s future in Barcelona colours is currently viewed as being somewhat up in the air.
The Dane has enjoyed a productive opening to the new campaign, working his way back into the plans of head coach Hansi Flick.
Christensen’s contract terms, though, are due to expire in the summer of 2026, with little progress thought to have been made in talks regarding a renewal.
Amid their own search for reinforcements at the back, the aforementioned Atlético are therefore understood to be keeping a close eye on the situation of the former Chelsea man.
Mateu Alemany, new Director of Professional Football at the Metropolitano, previously proved decisive in bringing Christensen to Barcelona back in 2022.
