La Liga outfit Athletic Club have early this week provided an update on the wellbeing of star attacker Nico Williams.
This comes after the 23-year-old suffered an injury setback whilst on international duty with Spain.
Wide-man Nico was for his part in from the off on Sunday night, as La Roja made the trip to Turkey for a World Cup qualifier.
And en route to an eventual 6-0 romp for the visitors in Konya, the Athletic man laid on an assist for Pedri’s opener.
Late in the first-half, however, Nico’s evening was brought to a premature end.
After pulling up with what appeared to be a groin complaint, the attacker quickly made clear that he was in no condition to continue.
Nico, in turn, was hauled off, before making his way back to Bilbao for a round of medical tests.
And as alluded to above, over the last 24 hours, the results of as much have been revealed.
As per a statement across Athletic Club’s website and social media platforms:
‘Nico Williams has a moderate muscle injury to his left adductor muscle, according to medical tests conducted this afternoon. His progress is pending.’
The 28-time capped Spanish international is considered a doubt to feature in his side’s upcoming fixtures against both Deportivo Alavés, and Arsenal.
