Arsène Wenger the latest to compare Jude Bellingham to Real Madrid legend

Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham has this week drawn fresh praise from one of the most recognisable figures in the game.

As much, of course, comes amid what has proven nothing short of a historic debut campaign in Spain’s capital.

Since switching Borussia Dortmund for Real last summer, the 20-year-old has lit up La Liga, on his way to a stellar haul of 22 goals and ten assists across 39 appearances in all competitions.

Such exploits have seen Bellingham come in for early shouts for the next Ballon d’Or, amid Real’s pursuit of glory on the domestic and European fronts alike.

And one individual who has been left thoroughly impressed by such endeavours on the part of the England international comes in the form of Arsène Wenger.

During an appearance on beIN SPORTS this week, Arsenal icon Wenger was asked for his take on Bellingham’s talents.

And the Frenchman made use of the opportunity to compare Real’s latest midfield sensation to one of the greatest players in the storied history of the club:

“Bellingham is kind of a mix between Zidane and a powerful player. He’s a Zidane with power, certainly a little less gifted on his first touch of the ball, but he’s more of a scorer.”

Wenger then went on to liken Bellingham to a Rolls Royce, before adding that “he glides through with power without looking to make an effort.”
