Former Arsenal head coach Arsène Wenger has turned heads with his take on Sunday’s La Liga showdown between Real Madrid and Barcelona.
This comes after the Frenchman revealed his take that the clash ended up looking like ‘men against boys’.
The season’s first edition of El Clásico was of course contested yesterday evening, at the Santiago Bernabéu.
When all was said and done, it was hosts Real Madrid who emerged 2-1 victors, courtesy of goals from Kylian Mbappé, and Jude Bellingham.
The eventual result did not at all flatter Los Blancos, who for the most part controlled proceedings in the Spanish capital, dominating tactically and physically alike.
And in full agreement with such an assessment of the Clásico, as alluded to above, is Arsène Wenger.
Speaking as part of his punditry role for beIN Sports on Sunday, Arsenal legend Wenger revealed his take that:
“It was a bit like a duel between men and boys. Real Madrid’s defence was much stronger than Barcelona’s. In attack, Madrid always looked capable of scoring, while Barcelona looked ineffective. They had a lot of possession, but never really seemed capable of creating danger or finding the goal.”
