Premier League champions Arsenal are ready to shatter the club’s long-held wage structure, to maximise their chances of landing Real Madrid star Vinícius Jr. this summer.
That’s according to The Athletic, who have on Saturday provided a fresh insight into the situation.
The name of attacker Vinícius has of course dominated the media headlines across Spain and England alike over the course of the last week. This comes after widespread confirmation was forthcoming that the aforementioned Arsenal have set their sights on the Brazilian’s signature.
Vinícius is due to see his contract terms in Madrid expire in 12 months’ time, with a breakthrough yet to be found in renewal talks between club and player.
Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, in turn, are hopeful of taking advantage of the situation, by luring the 26-year-old to north London before the summer is out.
And as alluded to above, the Gunners, it would now appear, are ready to do whatever it takes to land their man…
As per a report from The Athletic:
‘Madrid proposed a €20m annual salary to Vinicius Jr, and Arsenal are willing to make an exception to their usual salary structure for a player like Vinicius.’
