Arsenal pair choose Barcelona star to win Ballon d’Or

Two members of the first-team ranks at Premier League giants Arsenal have named Lamine Yamal as their pick to secure this year’s Ballon d’Or.

Wide-man Lamine is for his part of course considered one of the outright frontrunners to lift the next ‘Golden Ball’.

The gifted attacker, despite his tender years, is fresh off a spectacular individual campaign in 2024/25, which saw him emerge as one of the standout performers in all of world football.

All told, across all competitions, Lamine directly contributed to a hugely impressive 43 goals.

Owing to as much, the 18-year-old sits behind only Ousmane Dembélé in the Ballon d’Or sweepstakes at present.

And as alluded to above, of the opinion that Lamine should indeed be named the best player in the game for 2025 are a pair of Arsenal youngsters.

Speaking during an interview with Sky Sports this week, both Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly named the Spanish international as their pick to be afforded the title of world football’s best player.

The former had the following to say when drawn on the subject:

“Ballon d’Or? Lamine Yamal. I’m basing it on performances. From what I’ve seen, he deserves it.”
