Arsenal consider João Félix loan deal

Arsenal are interested in signing João Félix on loan from Atlético Madrid, report The Athletic.

The 23-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Estadio Metropolitano for the last couple of months after falling out with head coach Diego Siemone.

The club have put a €100m price tag on Félix and it was communicated last week that Manchester United are in pole position to sign the Portuguese international following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo from Old Trafford.

However, it appears as though Arsenal have stepped up their interest in securing the services of Félix after the injury of Gabriel Jesus whilst away on international duty with Brazil during the World Cup.

As Gabriel Jesus is expected to be sidelined until at least end of February, Arsenal would be keen to bring Félix to the Emirates Stadium on loan until the end of the season.

However, the two clubs are yet to arrive at an agreement over the transfer fee. Atlético Madrid want Arsenal to pay a €15m loan fee, as well as cover his gross salary valued at €6m. The Gunners hope that they can reduce Los Colchoneros’ demands in the next couple of days.
